"...at half past two Sunday morning, May 5, No. 98 Royal Street, below St. Louis took fire in the rear, and was almost entirely destroyed. The basement was occupied by the Millinery of M[ademoise]lle Justine, and the upper floors occupied by Mr. D. Seche and family, and M[ada]me Comte Brochard, the prima-donna of the opera company. Everything in the building was destroyed...etc....at 2 o'clock on Saturday May 4...a fire broke out in the building on Royal street next adjoining the above, occupied by Mr. Wiss, agent for the Pleyel and Erard pianos, and above by a colored woman who kept boarders....the upper story was destroyed."
