According to the order of the 5th. District Court dated June 3 & 4th, 1847 the property belonging to the Succession of Louis Barthelemy Macarty was exposed for sale the City Exchange. The lots sold are described as follows: One lot of ground situated on Madison Street measuring 20' 10" 4''' in front by 65' 8" of depth. Together with the main house and other buildings bearing the Municipal No. 19. Another lot adjoining the one described above measuring 20' 7" 4''' front on Madison Street by a depth of 60' 8" together with a main house and other buildings bearing the Municipal No. 21. These two houses are leased until Sept. 30, 1847 to a person named Carouna at $37.50 each per month. Lot 19 was sold for $3,800 and lot 21 for $4,000.
