The buildings were built at the same time for the same owners as the now demolished building at 604 Chartres. The balcony on the corner building is a c. 1968 addition.

Act of Partition. (COB 5/516) Partnership. $35,000 for the three lots. Three contiguous lots in the square of the city, designated by the numbers 14, 15, and 16 on a plan by Bourgerol, March 28, 1829 belong to the lot number 14, forming the corner of Toulouse and Chartres streets, measures 80' 9" front on Chartres Street 80' in depth. Lots number 15 and 16 each have 80' 9" front on Chartres Street by 80' depth, all in American measure. The three contiguous lots form, together, a square long with a frontage of 74' 3" on Chartres Street and another frontage of 80' on Toulouse St. The property belonged jointly to Mr. Cyprien Gros and Antoine Carraby, to each an undivided half. By this act a new division of the property is made and Mr. Cyprien Gros gets all that portion designated on the annexed plan by Jos. Pilie, March 22, 1830, by the numbers 2 and 3. The lot designated by the number 2 is the one at corner of Toulouse and Chartres streets. Mr. Cyprien Gros also gets that portion designated by the letters E, and D, on which are found the buildings erected at the common expense of Messrs. Carraby and Gros.
