Vieux Carré Commission Evaluation:

Main building -- yellow; one-story infill building -- brown : to : main building -- green; garage wall -- brown. Shown on an 1871 plan book drawing and on the 1876 Sanborn as a one-story cottage, which was part of a stable complex, this altered 2-story brick building was built or rebuilt in the late 19th c. as part of a carriage house and team boarding complex. Brown-rated buildings adjoining this structure have been demolished, and only a one-story garage wall remains. [N.B: These structures sit atop two separate lots, 618-620 St. Philip (Lot 18549) and 624-626 St. Philip (Lot 18550); a corrugated metal shed has been erected behind the brown-rated garage wall since the last VCC ratings, but the rest of the lot remains surface parking.]
