Original Act: 6/263. "The land measuring 69' 3" front on St. Peter Street, between Royal and Bourbon streets, by depth of 84' 4½", bounded on one side by property of A. Peychaud and on the other side by B. Campanel and in the rear by Mr. Lafargue. Together with buildings, which exist on this land, consisting of a store in brick and a two-story kitchen. Plan by J. Pilie, dated February 5, 1833, attached hereto showing this property, which was formerly a part of a lot owned by Mr. Carraby, extending through the block fronting Orleans and St. Peter streets." Note: Pierre and Antoine Carraby acquired the property by two acquisitions as follows.
"HOME OF ANTOINE ANGUE - 723 ST. PETER STREET.
Opposite the old St. Peter Street Theatre site is a one-story brick building which well illustrates the type of structure early settlers in New Orleans erected on the lands parceled out to them by grants of the monarchs of France and Spain. When Antoine Angue acquired this property December 4, 1809 from Antoine Faisendieu, whose tavern was just opposite, it is quite certain this very house was standing almost as you see it today. The property that Monsieur Angue secured extended through the block with a frontage in Orleans Street, and there the new owner built the Restaurant d'Orleans now standing at 718 Orleans which we will see later."
