Main building -- green with blue stripes; courtyard structures -- brown : to : main building -- blue; courtyard structures -- brown. This c. 1832 3-story masonry Transitional style building, now the site of the Court of Two Sisters, and the adjacent building at 609-11 Royal were built in 1832 by Zenon Cavalier, president of the Banque de l'Orleans. The delicate detailing, including the garlanded wooden cornice and the wrought iron balconies, point to the work of architects Gurlie and Guillot. Since the late 19th-century the property has best been known for its spacious courtyard, which accentuates the Creole design of the rear arches.

Copy of a fan from The Court of Two Sisters with a recipe for Mint Julep and Gin Fizz on one side.
— Fan"Court of the Two Sisters, 613 Royal, standing here on the site of the former residence of Governor Perier, ruler of the French Colony in the early part of the 18th century, is an old building whose spacious courtyard is one of the largest and best-known in New Orleans. The earlier building was also, according to one tradition, occupied by Governor Vaudreuil, the 'Great Marquis' and arbiter of fashion of his day, under whose regime New Orleans patterned its social life after the Court of Versailles under the Marquise de Pompadour. The present three-story brick edifice was built in 1832, but did not receive its popular name until more than fifty years later, when it was occupied by two sisters, Emma and Bertha Camors, who for twenty years carried on a 'fancy and variety store here.' The ground floor of the building is now decorated so as to give one the impression of being a sidewalk café. At one time in the rear of the court there stood a fountain -- a charming cupid who blew sprays of water from the horn of a ram. A few years ago the fountain was uprooted and sold, and is now installed at 731 Royal Street."
