Note: Letter to H. E. Krehbiel from L. Hearn dated New Orleans, 1877. "Let me give you a description of my new residence."

Updating Note: Though this property has long been associated, by hearsay, with Lafcadio Hearn, it is more than likely, judging from the description of the dwelling in which he had rooms in the adjacent Hearn letter, that Hearn lived around the corner in what is present-day 719-723-725 St. Louis Street. The description in this letter does not apply to 508-516 Bourbon Street, but it does correspond to buildings on the St. Louis site at the time of Hearn's residence in the Vieux Carré.
