Original Act. Transaction to sell property and settlement of rights. A lot of ground in Dauphine Street with the houses thereon. The houses are in bad condition and rented for a small revenue. This property is now purchased by Mrs. Fernandez, with paraphernal money and therefore is her own personal property. The succession of Antoine Molinari was opened in the Probate Court in the year 1833 and an Inventory of his property was made in the year 1834, his heirs were his widow and three minor children. Mrs. Molinari, later married Rufino Thomas Fernandez, and a family meeting was held in favor of the minors and homologated by proceedings of the Probate Court, dated April 14, 1842 and June 5, 1843. After this family meeting the above transaction was agreed upon, to settle with the former Widow Molinari now Mrs. Fernandez; as the revenue produced by the rental of real estate located in this city is not sufficient to cover the cost of the education of her minor children, she agrees to contribute out of her own funds $240.00 a year of $80.00 each per annum, until they reach the age of majority. At the time of the inventory made in 1834, the property presently sold was described as a lot situated in Dauphine Street, between St. Peter and Toulouse streets, measuring about 31' front by about 120' in depth, bounded on one side by property of Taman, a free negress, and in the rear by property of Paul Lanusse. The buildings on the lot consist of a house of brick, roofed with tiles, composed of four rooms, two with fireplaces, a gallery on the Court and two small pantries at each end, a kitchen well located in the first court; in the second court in the west is one small room, with a chimney, built of brick roofed with tiles, with a small closet, fenced and used as an office. The property is valued at $6000. This property was listed in the marriage contract between Therese Elliot or Helliot and Antoine Molinari, given before Carlile Pollock, Notary July 11, 1825, as being part of the goods brought to the community by the future husband Antoine Molinari, shop-keeper and merchant of this city.
