Judgment of Successions. Valentine and Virginie Avegno were the children of Anatole Placide Avegno who died in this city on April 18, 1862, leaving them as his sole heirs. His succession was opened in the 2nd District Court in May, 1862. The minor Valentine Avegno died in this city on March 11, 1866, aged about 6 years. Her mother and sister were placed in possession of this particular property, which is part of that purchased by the minors from George Binder. By judgment rendered by this Second District Court, May 3, 1866, the mother inherited 1/8 interest and her sister 7/8 interest. This act was later transferred to the Civil District Court No. 1664.

Original Act: 70/29. 6 lots. Lot Z, formerly No. 7, valued with improvements at $1800. These lots were purchased by George Binder from the Estate of Philippe Avegno at a public auction and are the same that Bernard Avegno, Testamentary Executor of the Succession of Philippe Avegno, has sold to Mr. Binder by act under private signature dated Aug. 22, 1862. By another act before J. Cuvillier, N. P., dated Feb. 8, 1864, Vol. 70, Act 34, Mrs. Rosa Canonge, wife of George Binder, renounces all her rights to the property in favor of the minors, Virginie and Valentine Avegno.

Two lots situated on St. Peter St. Lot 7 measures 32' 8" __ by 103' 10" 6''', appraised at $1800 and a lot next to the above, Lot 8, which measures 41' 1" 2''' front on St. Peter St. by 128' 2" together with all improvements, appraised at $2800 at Public Sale. Also Lots 9 and 10, each measuring 32' 3" 4''' x 95' 11" front on Burgundy St. These lots are composed of portion of land purchased by Philippe Avegno as follows.

2nd portion facing St. Peter St. Appraised value 5000 piastres. A lot of ground situated in St. Peter St., north east side between Dauphine and Burgundy Sts., measuring 42' front F.M. as far as a depth of 117', thence 32' in width by 61', having thus a total depth of 178'. The lot is bounded on the Burgundy St. side by the assignees of Blaise Puche and on the other by property of Mr. Avegno and on the line of depth by that of Mlle. Macarty. Together with all constructions and dependencies. This lot was purchased by Mr. Genois during the Community which existed between his wife and himself from Marcos Tio, by an act passed before P. Pedesclaux, N.P., Aug. 21, 1806. The said lot sold conforms to a plan drawn by Lafon on July 28, 1805, relatives to the titles of said property and which plan has been delivered to Mr. Avegno. Mr. Genois became sole owner of the property by an act passed before Philippe Pedesclaux, N.P., May 7, 1825, wherein a partition was effected between Bernard Genois and the heirs of Mrs. Catherine Morant Genois, of all the property belonging to the said community.

1st portion facing St. Peter St. Sale for $3201, for this and another lot. A portion of land situated on St. Peter St., having 31½' front by 180' of depth together with the house and other buildings thereon.

2nd portion facing St. Peter St. Partition between the heirs of Mrs. Catherine Moran Genois and Bernard Genois. In order to effect an amicable partition between the heirs of his deceased wife and himself of the community formerly existing between them, Messrs. François Dutillet, ___ Roux and Claude Gurlie, all 3 experts, were named to appraise the property belonging thereto. Included in the portion allotted to Bernard Genois is the house built on a lot situated on St. Peter St., having 42' facing the street by 178' in depth. Deduction was made of a parallelogram of 10' by 61' in one of the 2 angles of the depth. Appraised at $1200.
