[N.B: At the time that the chains of title were abstracted for the VCS, the two distinct buildings at 917-921 Toulouse and 925 Toulouse belonged to the same lot (Lot 11331).] 917-921 Toulouse. No change: main and service buildings – green; courtyard infill -- brown. The Volunteers of America now employ these two, c. 1828, Creole-style, 3½-story townhouses. Note the unusual balcony railings on these buildings, which (like 927 Toulouse) were constructed for Philippe Avegno. 925 Toulouse. Brown : to : yellow. This address features a c. 1920, masonry, 2-story garage building, which was constructed as part of the Volunteers of America Hotel.

925 Toulouse Street. Valentine and Virginie Avegno were the children of Anatole Placide Avegno who died in this city on April 18, 1862, leaving them as his sole heirs. His succession was opened in the Second District Court in May 1862. The minor Valentine Avegno, died in this city aged about 6 years, on March 11, 1866, and her mother and sister were placed in possession (of the particular property researched in this chain, which the minors had purchased from George Binder) by judgment of the Second District Court, dated May 3, 1866 (1/8 interest to her mother and 7/8 to her sister). This affair was later transferred to the Civil District Court No. 1664 and the judgment was upheld.
