Vieux Carré Commission Evaluation:

Proposed change: front -- green; rear -- brown to orange. This address features a 2-story masonry-front structure with 7 bays, the central one of which consists of a wide driveway, and a rear parking area. Although the front building may date from the early 19th century, it was drastically remodeled during the end of that century. An 1835 plan book drawing of the property shows a massive, U-shaped, 5-bay building with a center arched opening. A railroad track ran down the center area. By 1876 the earlier building had received a second story and the building was used as a livery. Note: This building was reconstructed, 1989.
